We start class with a bell-work assignment (individual then go over as a class). Then we sing the Buenas Tardes song and review some phrases. We then make flashcards some of the classroom phrases and greetings expressions. Lastly, we practice writing out greetings and farewells based on given situations on a Worksheet called "Saludos y Despedidas."
Tarea: Finish Activity 1 and 2, Color in and cut out flashcards and practice with them. Place flashcards in a Ziploc bag (or pencil bag...something to keep them in one place and easy to find) and place bag in your binder. Keep practicing those phrases and song by listening to the audio files in the previous entries!

We started off class by greeting each other in Spanish and finishing up our Greetings worksheet. We then practiced pronouncing the Classroom Phrases as well. Afterwords, we took notes on how to say, "What's your name?" and "My name is" in Spanish. Students chose their own Spanish names and we played a game in which we practiced asking and answering the question, "What's your name?". Finally, we learned a new song to help remember some phrases you'd use when greeting someone! Listen to the song in the link below!
buenas_tardes_song.m4a Homework: Keep practicing your Classroom Phrases and Greetings words by reviewing the audio files from the previous week and practice our new song too! What a fun first day of school! I hope your student enjoyed their introduction to Spanish--it sure seemed like they did! Today we went over class expectations by reading the syllabus, we then started talking about classroom phrases they might want to say or that they might hear me saying on a regular basis and we filled in our classroom phrases vocabulary list. We then started filling in a greetings and farewells vocabulary list but ran out of time before completing it--we will complete this sheet in class on Monday. I will be posting some audio clips of how to correctly pronounce the phrases on both of those vocabulary sheets below!
Recordings: classroom_phrases.m4a greetings__vocabulary.m4a Tarea (homework!) Practice your classroom phrases by listening to the audio clips and say the phrases along with the recording (you can always pause or replay if it goes too fast). Please practice at least once a day so that you become familiar with these phrases. Have your parents read the syllabus and sign the bottom (you will be turning this in to me on Monday). |
